my wife watched this video and asked me what would I do if I were the single guy facing three attackers... I said: - if I could safely disengage, I would have run away... - if I felt I *HAD* to stay and face these attackers then it's gloves off and we are ATTACKING them! Vital target acquisition. Focussing on their weak target areas. I am grabbing/hitting/kicking/biting at the eyes, throat, groin, ears, floating ribs, shins, etc... - If I had a weapon/equalizer then I might consider deploying it... ONLY IF I truly believed that I was facing death or grievous bodily harm. Honestly, why would you fight THREE guys withOUT a weapon?!?! You think you're THAT good? Check your ego because it will get you killed. - If I was taken to the ground I would probably be shitting myself. Seriously... bad just got worse! The guy who's holding you down in a headlock - you grab his balls and tear them off. You HAVE to get back onto your feet, quick fast and in a hurry. - Once on my feet I am high-tailing it OUT of there! Consider that if you were an officer of the law and had to defend yourself against THREE attackers, you may be authorized to use a high level of force to defend yourself and the public. And you ALWAYS have the option to disengage. But if you feel you cannot safely do so, then you do what you need to do to win.

nice reminder for the reality of fighting multiple opponents. It isn't the movies where everyone takes turns. It's pretty much guaranteed chaos. The single defender was doing a decent job funneling for awhile but really, he should have disengaged or at least tried to... because, you are not going to win a fight against multiple attackers. If these guys had weapons he this guy would be dead. His best chance was while he was still on his feet, mobile and was funneling. Ideally, he would have been able to hit vital targets (eyes, throat, etc) for a positive effect. On the ground in a front choke, he was screwed if the attackers on top had weapons or if they actually knew how to fight. They obviously did not know what they were doing. Multiple attackers, cars driving by, dog biting at your ass....... how's that for reality?
